The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah is all set to visit Mumbai on Tuesday, May 27. During his visit Amit Shah will participate in the 150th anniversary of the historic Shri Laxmi Narayan temple at Madhav Baug complex. This temple holds an historic significance and is an important spiritual temple in Mumbai. The temple holds history of almost a century and a half. This event is significantly important for the culture of Maharashtra and so will also be attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. 

Amit Shah is currently on his three day tour of Maharashtra, his visit also includes the cities of Nagpur and Nanded. In Nanded his visit marked the unveiling of a statue of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Vasantrao Naik and he also participated in a public rally. During his Nagpur visit he inaugurated the temporary campus of National Forensic Sciences University and also laid the foundation stone for ‘Swasti Nivas’ at the National Cancer Institute. 


Post his visit to the temple, Amit Shah will be delivering a lecture on the 60th death anniversary of freedom fighter Veer Savarkar, at the Sir Cowasji Jehangir Hall, Mumbai University. This lecture will highlight the government’s commitment to national security and stand against terrorism, in the recent context of ‘Operation Sindoor.’



In light of the state preparing for upcoming civic body elections, the visit of Amit Shah was important. His involvement with the public states as a strategic move to promote the presence of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state of Maharashtra. 

The 150th anniversary of the Laxmi Narayan is not just important for the community of the temple but also serves as a platform for political leaders to engage with the public. Amit Shah attending a cultural event will reflect on the party’s emphasis on culture and tradition, aligning with the sentiments of the public. 

Looking ahead, Amit Shah is set to visit West Bengal on June 1, where he will take part in a major central government event in Kolkata. The visit is expected to highlight significant national initiatives and showcase the Centre's developmental agenda.

Shah will also meet with members of the BJP’s West Bengal core committee and its MLAs. These interactions aim to bolster internal coordination and develop a cohesive strategy in the lead-up to the West Bengal Assembly elections scheduled for next year.

According to BJP sources, preparations in the state have already begun, and Shah’s visit is expected to further energize the party’s campaign and organizational machinery.
