Four people including a 6-year-old child were on Tuesday morning killed after a massive fire broke out at a high-rise building in Vashi area of Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra, officials said.
At least 10 people sustained injuries in the tragic incident, they said.
The blaze was reported at Raheja Residency in Sector 14 area of Vashi in the earlier hours of Tuesday, the officials said.
The victims have been identified as 6-year-old Vedika Sundar Balakrishnan and her father Sundar Balakrishnan, aged 44. Two other residents, Pooja Rajan (39) and Kamala Hiral Jain (84), also lost their lives in the fire, according to an official.

Firefighters from Vashi, Nerul, Airoli, and Koparkhairane responded quickly and managed to bring the fire under control by 4 am.
