Department of Posts on Friday announced the rollout of its upgraded IT 2.0 Advanced Post Technology (APT) application at the Mumbai General Post Office (GPO) on August 4, 2025.

An official statement released by the office of Mumbai GPO said that as part of the implementation, public services at Mumbai GPO will remain suspended on August 2 and 3. The planned downtime is essential to ensure safe data migration, system testing, and configuration, enabling a smooth switch to the new system.
Mid-day had earlier on July 19 reported about the significant stride towards digital transformation and easy postal services and the Department of Post setting up a next-generation Advanced Post Technology (ATP) application.
The APT application is designed to deliver faster service, an improved user interface, and a more customer-friendly experience. The upgrade is part of the department’s mission to build smarter, more efficient, and future-ready postal services, the statement said.
It further said that the customers are requested to plan their visits accordingly and cooperate during this short interruption. The department expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and reassured the public that these efforts are aimed at delivering better digital services across the country.
