Mumbai Police on Wednesday issued traffic restrictions on the Wadala Link Road for the ongoing Mumbai Metro Line-4 works.

In a traffic notification, the police stated that due to the works, temporary traffic restrictions would remain in place on the Wadala Link Road under the Antop Hill Traffic Division area.

According to notification, the erection of Pier Cap P-78 will be carried out near the Anik BEST Depot and in front of Rustomjee Aspire on Wadala Link Road. The work will involve the use of cranes, multi-axle trailers and other heavy machinery.

Due to limited road width in the area, temporary traffic management measures are required to ensure public safety.

Traffic restrictions timing

The traffic restrictions will be in force from 11.00 pm on January 24, 2026, to 6.00 am on January 25, 2026, the police said.

The order has been issued by Dr Dipali Dhate, Deputy Commissioner of Police (HQ & Central), Traffic, Mumbai, under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

Roads to remain closed

During the restriction period, the following routes will remain closed to traffic -

- Ahuja Bridge (southbound) in front of Padmashree Vasantdada Patil College

- Northbound traffic from Lodha Signal towards Ahuja Bridge

- North-south traffic from Anik BEST Depot towards Panchsheel Nagar Signal

Alternate routes for motorists

The traffic notification stated that motorists are advised to use the following alternate routes -

- For southbound traffic on Ahuja Bridge, vehicles should use the Sion-Panvel Highway, proceeding from Sion Circle to Swarna Kaur Bindra Chowk and then to Lodha Signal.

- For northbound traffic from Lodha Signal to Ahuja Bridge, vehicles should take a left turn from Lodha Signal towards RTO Chowk and proceed towards Sion Circle.

- Vehicles travelling northbound from Anik BEST Depot towards Panchsheel Nagar Signal should take a U-turn near the Mahanagar Gas pump and proceed southbound.

Advisory to motorists

The Mumbai Traffic Police have urged motorists to plan their journeys in advance and follow traffic signs and instructions issued by traffic personnel on duty.

Commuters are advised to avoid the affected stretch during the restriction period to prevent inconvenience, police said.
