Adding to the chaos, reports of local trains not functioning as per their scheduled time due to waterlogging on the tracks have also been reported. Heavy rains in Mumbai on Monday left Kalyan Railway Station packed with stranded commuters. Moreover, train services between Kurla and CSMT were completely halted due to severe waterlogging on the tracks at Masjid station, which was made operational after a couple of hours. Additionally, trains on the Harbour Line were also running behind schedule during the early hours of Monday. The cancellation and delay of several trains across the central and harbour lines caused massive inconvenience to thousands of passengers, forcing many to wait indefinitely at the station premises.
Videos surfacing on social media platforms show that because of the intense rains, the area under the Dadar TT flyover has been waterlogged, leading to traffic disruptions. Moreover, heavy rainfall also caused waterlogging around the Breach Candy area, resulting in traffic delays and inconvenience for residents and commuters.
