Over 25 lakh new vehicles hit Maharashtra roads in 2023; 7.91 per cent rise in one year

In the year 2023, more than 25 lakh new vehicles hit Maharashtra's roads, pushing the total digitally registered vehicles in the state to 3.58 crore. The state transport department data indicates a 7.91 per cent growth in vehicle registrations, with 25,63,491 new vehicles registered in 2023 compared to 23,74,591 the previous year.

At least 23.74 lakh vehicles were registered in Maharashtra in 2022 compared to 19.23 lakh in 2019, seeing a 23.46 per cent rise in registration, reveals the data.
