There is no reason for students to worry over admissions to First Year Junior College (FYJC) as data from the office of the Deputy Director of Education (DyDE) reveals that while there are 3,20,710 seats available, only 2,19,466 applications have come in.

While registration for the admission process concluded on Sunday, junior college allotments will be declared on August 27 and students will have time till August 30 to confirm their admissions.

As per data provided by the DyDE, there are 3,20,710 vacant seats in a total of 843 junior colleges in the Mumbai division. While 5,530 students have already been admitted under the minority section and through the in-house admission process, 3,15,180 seats are still vacant.

“This means all the students who have applied for FYJC will get admission. It is important that students fill in college options by carefully comparing their scores with the cut-off provided by colleges during last year’s admissions,” shared an official from the DyDE office.

The data further reveals that the Commerce stream has the highest number of intake at 1,74,580 followed by Science (1,02,770), Arts (37,700) and HSVC (5,660).
