Maharashtra: Seven injured as Shivshahi bus collides with CNG truck on Mumbai-Goa highway

In a similar incident, a serious accident occurred on the Mumbai–Goa highway near Mangaon in Raigad district on Wednesday morning. Seven passengers were injured after a Shivshahi bus collided with a truck transporting CNG cylinders. Following the incident, traffic on the busy highway came to a complete halt, according to reports.

The bus was travelling from Mumbai to Malvan when the collision took place. The accident caused significant damage to one side of the Shivshahi bus, and the impact raised concerns of a potential CNG leak from the truck.

As per reports, to prevent any untoward incident, police rushed to the spot and immediately stopped traffic in both directions. As a result, long queues of vehicles formed on both sides of the highway, causing severe inconvenience to commuters.

Given the risk of a gas leak, fire brigade personnel and emergency response teams reached the site and are working to stabilise the situation. The injured passengers have been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Mangaon police have launched an investigation into the accident.

Four dead, three injured as car hits two-wheelers on Ambernath flyover near Mumbai

In another similar incident, four people were killed and three others injured after a car rammed into several two-wheelers and overturned on a flyover in Ambernath town of Maharashtra’s Thane District last week, news agency PTI reported, quoting police.

The accident took place around 7.15 pm on the flyover that connects the eastern part of the town to its western side. Police said the impact of the collision was so severe that one of the two-wheeler riders was flung into the air and fell onto the road beneath the flyover.

“The driver of the car reportedly lost control and the vehicle collided with four to five two-wheelers before overturning,” a police officer said.
