At least 103 domestic and international flights were rescheduled, six cancelled, 22 diverted to other cities and rest delayed. The flight operations at the airport were suspended for more than two hours, from 7.30 to 9.40 am in the morning due to fog, which led to diversion of 22 flights to other cities, an airport official said.
No flights could either take off or land due to poor visibility during the two hours, the official said, adding this resulted in huge backlog of the outgoing flights. It had a ripple effect on the incoming flights, which got delayed by two to three hours.
Six international flightsu00a0coming from Paris, Addis Ababa, Muscat, Beijing and Abu Dhabiu00a0were also diverted. After a clear morning, within half an hour the visibility dropped to below 50 metres.
