The German Bakery blast investigation has taken a step forward. It is learnt that the state Anti-Terrorism Squad has detained a person named Faisal from Aane near Surat.

Commissioner of Police Dr Satyapal Singh said he had no knowledge of the development, but sources said Faisal was being questioned.

Singh said, "I do not have any information on this."

The sources said Faisal may turn out to be an active member of Bangladesh-based terror organization HuJI.

It is said that Faisal's female friend named Barkha had visited David Coleman Headley, a man arrested in the US for terrorist connections, when Headley was staying at Surya Villa, a hotel in the adjoining lane of German Bakery.

Barkha is on the run, sources said. She is also from Bangladesh.
