Beggar run over by Frenchman's car

Incident in Vasant Vihar area of south Delhi

A French national was arrested on Sunday after his speeding car crushed to death an unidentified beggar near Vasant Vihar in south Delhi.

"Eyewitnesses told us that the beggar was drunk and was crossing the road when the accident took place," said a senior police official.

The French national, whose name hasn't been revealed, was arrested and a case was registered under Section 304(A) (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 279 (rash and negligent driving) of Indian Penal Code.
The beggar was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.
