The following case would explain why people avoid helping those caught in road accidents.

"Teri Maa Ki" is what Mukesh Jadhav, a truck driver, had to hear after he tried to help a man hit by another truck near Sarai Kaley Khan late on Thursday night.

The driver of the truck fled the scene, leaving him to die. However, Jadhav who was passing by the road on his truck, stopped to help. He took out the jack from his vehicle and rushed towards Mintoo.

He unfastened the tyre to free Mintoo. By the time he took out Mintoo, police and ambulance had arrived on the scene. However, a police constable abused and shooed him away.

"Sahab eik to madad karo aur phir gaali suno. Isliye koi madad nahin karta." (You get abused for helping people. That's the reason no one comes forward)
"Had Jadhav not came forward to help, Mintoo would have died on the spot," said an eyewitness.
