Refusing few passengers a rest stop on September 17, irked passengers decided to take some action and assaulted him mercilessly on Sunday night at 11 pm.
Few days back, while on Shimoga duty, he issued tickets to the passengers from Bangalore and fell asleep.
When a few passengers wanted a break, they requested him for a halt. After being woken up from his sleep, Praveen was not happy and an argument between the passengers ensued.
They decided to take revenge, on their way back from Shimoga. The passengers' ganged up against him and beat him mercilessly.
A complaint was filed in Peenya police station. The police have reported a mobile missing and also Rs 7,000 missing in cash. At the time of going to press, one man was arrested.
