Injured woman robbed of gold bangles worth Rs 2 lakh

Rashmi More, a resident of Sahar, was on her way to St John's church in Marol on Tuesday when the Metro bridge collapsed injuring her leg. The 40-year-old was on her way to book the church for her daughter's wedding when the mishap occurred.

And More’s spate of bad luck continued as she was robbed of six gold bangles worth Rs 2 lakh when she was being rushed to hospital.u00a0


Recounting the horror, More recuperating in ICU at Seven Hills Hospital said, “I was walking to the church when the accident took place. I was walking, as it was very difficult to get a rickshaw. While walking, I noticed that the structure supporting the staircase of the Metro trembling. At that moment, I didn’t understand the gravity of the situation. But, when the entire structure came crashing down, I ran to save my life. A piece of concrete fell on my leg.”


She added that in the process of taking her to the hospital for treatment, she noticed that six of her bangles had gone missing. “I have filed a case with the Sahar police.”


Dr Bhuvan D said that Rashmi was brought in by the locals around 7.30 pm on Tuesday and had been admitted to the ICU. She suffered from soft tissue injury in the ankle joint and is undergoing treatment for the same.u00a0
