IOA president Suresh Kalmadi promises to rope in the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, SRK and Subhash Ghai to raise funds for Hockey team

It seems all izz well for India's national sport -- Hockey.






Talking to MiD DAY, Subhash Ghai, film director, producer and screenwriter said, "We are aware of the condition of Hockey in India and I can assure you that the film industry will standu00a0 solidly behind them."

President of Olympic Association Suresh Kalmadi said he would be seeking the help of the film industry in raising funds.

Kalmadi said, "Besides corporate sponsorship, I intend to seek the help of the film industry and plan to rope in actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan besides Subhash Ghai."

Ghai said, "Let the Hockey association chalk out programmes and we will do all we can to help it."

Yesterday, the biggest crisis to hit Indian hockey was resolved after a compromise was worked out between the game's administrators and the striking national players who have now been promised an immediate disbursement of Rs 1 crore.
