What's Au Gratin and burgers doing on the menu of a Kashmiri-Arabic eatery? What's on dropped in to find out
It's name refers to coffee in Swahili, coffee room in Arabic, and traditional green tea in Kashmiri. The food served at this new cafu00e9 is a mix of Arabic and Kashmiri. But other than the token sheeshas that are a hit with college students, and the waiters' uniforms, there's isn't anything Arabian about this place.

We tried: Ironically, the menu includes a large section of fast food items: vegetarian burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, shakes, salads, soups, mocktails and coffee. We ordered the Russian Salad (Rs 60) and Au Gratin (Rs 95). Both tasted fine; but then you can't really go wrong with them, can you.
Servings: The portions aren't all that generous so be sure you order enough if you are a big group.
Speciality: The in-house speciality is a milkshake called Pan Pasand Shake (Rs 90). The proprietor has concoted this one and although weird sounding, it's a paisa vasool. Topped with cream and bits of paan, it is refreshing.
avoid: Experimentation goes a bit awry with the Supreme Maggi (Rs 60); 2-minute noodles tossed in an insipid red sauce topped with sweet corn and mushrooms. Avoid.
At: Hotel Yatri, Karve Road.
Call: 25456860.
