With the monsoon finally taking the capital by storm, a cross-cultural musical jugalbandi sets the mood

The ongoing Malhaar festival celebrates this sweet spirit, as a plethora of artists take centrestage. Here's more.

The festival is based on the philosophy that just as we reach God through prayers, the ragas, too, have supernatural powers to invoke the rain Gods. "A variety of Malhaars, including Mian-Ki Malhaar, Megh Malhaar, Gaur Malhaar, Suryadasi Malhaar, and Ramadasi Malhaar will be played," says Padmabhushan Pandit Debu Chaudhuri, one of the participants.
