Think Florida and you can instantly picture sun-kissed beaches and bikini babes. Now, Flo Rida is all set to come to the city and bring over some Hip-Hop hustle scores as well. Considered as one of the biggest American acts to hit the Hip-Hop scene, Flo Rida is going to take the city by storm with their chart-busting numbers this Sunday.

Their line-up will include hot singles like Low, Elevator, In the Ayer, Right Round and Club Can't Handle Me.
Initially known as Tramar Dillard (till 2006), Flo had an amateur group with a few friends by the name Groundhoggz before he signed an album with an independent label called Poe Boy Entertainment (now called Poe Boy Music Group). As Flo Rida, his first significant release was the promotional street single entitled Birthday, featuring Rick Ross. His songs like Elevator, featuring Timbaland, In the Ayer, featuring will.i.am, and Roll, featuring Sean Kingston, went on to climb the Hot 100 music charts.

Flo describes his music as Hip-Hop and House, and recalls how he got into music, "Music is like a quality with which some are born, some acquire it, and some just get into it.u00a0 In my case it was all three. There was a basic musical background in my family, I had a natural inclination and years of experimenting and learning made me develop a keen interest for music." He finds inspiration in the chirping of birds and the sound of waves among other elements. About Indian music, he feels that it has its roots in divinity.u00a0 "The more I get familiar with the local culture, the more I am intrigued," he admits.

Mail on Sunday was Flo Rida's solo debut album and Low was on number one position for ten weeks in the US in early 2008. In 2009, his second album R.O.O.T.S. had a song called Right Round which was at the top of the Hot 100 for six weeks.

"This is something that Pune has never seen. Flo Rida is the King of Hip-Hop and getting him to the city is a big achievement. We were in conversation for a long time. In fact, they were not aware of Pune at all! So, in a way, we have put the city on the global map," says Shailendra Kekade, Executive Chef at Stone Water Grill, where Flo Rida will be performing.

The musician's next album will be titled The Only One and will be a double album. Club Can't Handle Me is his first single to be released from the album; produced by David Guetta. It's also on the soundtrack of Step Up 3D.
He was awarded by Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (commonly known as ARIA Music Awards or ARIA Awards) for Running Back and was also nominated for the Grammy's this year for his album R.O.O.T.S. and for Low.
