The fifth Mapro Strawberry Festival is being held today and tomorrow in Panchgani. Started four years ago, when strawberry production far exceeded market demand, this festival aimed at promoting strawberries and encourage overall fruit consumption in Mahableshwar and Panchgani.
At the fest, expect to sample raw strawberries and innovative strawberry-based products like strawberry pizza, strawberry bhel, chocolate dipped strawberries and strawberry sandwiches.
The festival also includes free strawberry farm visits among a host of cultural and entertainment activities. Over 250 farmers from nearby villages will participate.
