Cut through glass of vehicle parked outside court premises, help themselves to bag; loss pegged at Rs 26,000
Thieves in the city will not spare even a lawyer. In a recent incident, cash kept in a Calvin Klein bag and at least six credit cards and three debit cards were stolen by an unidentified person who cut through the window glass of an SUV parked on the busy road outside the city court premises.

The car was parked 100 metres from the spot where policemen are deployed round-the-clock. The incident, in which Advocate Vipin Bidkar suffered a loss of Rs 26,000, has yet again exposed the issue of security on and near court premises.
Bidkar had parked his vehicle just 100 metres from the court's Gate No. 1, where about half-a-dozen policemen are always deployed. Bidkar noticed the theft at 4 pm and lodged a complaint with the Shivajinagar police station.
Car window cut
"I had to park my SUV, a Toyota Fortuner, outside as there was no parking space available inside," he said. "When I returned, someone had cut the glass of the front door and flicked Rs 20,000, six credit cards and three debit cards kept in a Calvin Klein bag worth Rs 6,000.
In my eight-year career, it was the first time I parked my vehicle outside the court and this happened." Police officials from the court and the Shivajinagar police station visited the spot after Bidkar informed the control room.
