Youth stoned in Nigadi

A 22-year-old from Rupinagar was found lying unconscious in a pool of blood in Transportnagar, Nigadi, at midnight. Security guards informed the Nigadi police, who suspect that the youth was hit on the head with a stone.

Santosh Chandrakant Nagtilak was bleeding profusely when he was rushed to the YCM hospital by the police. Officials said the youth had sustained grievous head injuries.

PSI Prakash Chavan said, "We suspect that he was stoned. We shifted him to YCM and informed the family but were given a lukewarm response initially. His mother and brotheru00a0 agreed to come down to the hospital only when we explained the seriousness of the situation."

"We could not wait for too long as he needed immediate medical attention. Since the facility for CT scan was not available at YCM Hospital, we decided to shift him to Sassoon," he added"The motive and people behind the attack can only be established once Santosh regains consciousness," said constable AJ Sathe.
