The boat left the Tanbazar ghat for Bandar area at around 10 pm. As it reached the middle of the river Shitalakkhya, a sand-laden cargo boat rammed into it, The Daily Star quoted a police officer as saying.
"Around 20-30 passengers have been rescued immediately after the incident while six of the injured were admitted to different local hospitals," the officer said.
