Astronomers discovered a small quasi-moon named 2025 PN7 orbiting near Earth, first observed on August 2, 2025, from Hawaii’s Pan-STARRS telescope. This object remained unnoticed for decades due to its small size, faintness, and limited visibility from Earth.

About 30 meters across, 2025 PN7 is an Arjuna asteroid moving in resonance with Earth but not gravitationally bound, expected to stay near Earth for roughly 60 more years. It swings within 186,000 miles of Earth without posing any collision threat.
