Jhelum boat accident: Boat capsizes in J&K's Jhelum River, 4 dead

In a tragic incident, a boat carrying school children capsized in the Jhelum river in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir on April 16. The Jhelum boat accident killed 4 people. The Srinagar Administration has launched a rescue operation in the area. A State Disaster Response Force team was also deployed. At least six persons including four children have died. Meanwhile, 4 bodies have been recovered, while others are missing. The boat which has capsized was ferrying children from Gandbal to Batwara in Srinagar. Continuous rains over last two days have led to an increase in the water levels of several water bodies, including Jhelum. Watch video

On the firing incident outside actor Salman Khan's residence on April 14, CM Eknath Shinde said, "I met with Salman Khan and assured him the government is with him. I also directed the police team to take immediate action on this and in that path two of the accused have been arrested... This is Maharashtra, no gang is left here... We will uproot all the gangs and goons...Here hooliganism will not be allowed to continue... The accused arrested are being interrogated... Strict actions will be taken. I have also directed the Police Commissioner to provide security for Salman Khan and his family... It is our duty to take care of our people... I don't want to comment on what happened in the past government, but we will uproot all the gangs and goons who will try to harm any person of the state..."

Jhelum Boat Accident: 6 dead bodies found, 3 people still missing

Rescue and search is operation underway in Ganderbal Nowgam area of ​​Srinagar. 3 people are still missing in the boat capsizing incident that occurred in the Jhelum River yesterday. According to DC Srinagar, Six bodies have been found so far. Officials said that the rescue operation continued till 11 pm last night but was halted due to darkness and heavy water flow in the river Jhelum. Haryana bus accident: Parents of deceased kids blame school management

A horrific bus accident took place in Haryana’s Mahendragarh on April 11 sending shockwaves across India. At least 5 students were killed and 15 were rendered injured after a private school bus overturned in the Kanina town. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital following the horrific road tragedy. As per police, the driver was driving the bus under the influence of alcohol. One of the parents and other locals also claimed that the driver was drunk while driving. One of the relatives of deceased child said the school administration was made aware of the drinking habit of the driver.  On the other hand, another relative of deceased child raised questions on Govt and School administration. Expressing grief, PM Modi said that “state govt is engaged in providing all possible help to victims and their families”.  Haryana CM Nayab Saini expressed grief over the incident and assured stringent action on the guilty. However, the question of the school being operational on a festival day (Eid) sparked a political row. Former Deputy CM of Haryana Dushyant Chautala raised questions and targeted Haryana Govt and administration.

The injured were immediately admitted to private hospitals. The kids were on their way to GL Public School, a private school located in Kanina of Mahendragarh when the tragic incident took place. President Droupadi Murmu extended her condolences for the tragic loss of schoolchildren in Haryana bus accident.
