Amid the Opposition onslaught against the Centre over the Hindenburg report on the Adani Group and the BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said Tuesday the PM had been subjected to such allegations since 2002 and had come out shining and more popular. On the Adani issue, he said the BJP has nothing to hide and no one can accuse the government of crony capitalism.

BBC Documentary: Sunak Shuts Down Pak Origin UK MP Over BBC Documentary On Modi

Even as India today said that the recently broadcast BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning his leadership during the 2002 Gujarat riots, was "propaganda", a Pak-origin British MP brought the topic up in the UK parliament only to be shot down by PM Rishi Sunak. Earlier in the day, the foreign ministry spokesperson said that “there is an agenda behind it (the film)”. PM Narendra Modi was the chief minister of Gujarat when communal riots erupted.

Political tension rises over BBC’s controversial documentary “India: The Modi Question”. On Jan 22, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju hit out at the opposition for supporting the documentary. Union iister staed that some people “consider the BBC above the Supreme Court of India”. Talking to Twitter, Rijiju said that minorities in the country are moving ahead positively. A day after the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting blocked the airing of BBC’s documentary. V Muraleedharan MoS MEA said, “Need to investigate the conspiracy.” Condemning the central government's decision Congress said the move raised doubts about the leadership.
