‘Jo Sharab Piyega Woh Marega Hi’ - Nitish Kumar on Chhapra Hooch Tragedy

Following the Hooch Tragedy in Chhapra, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on December 15 said that the people who will consume spurious liquor will die. He said, “Even when there was no liquor ban here, people died due to spurious liquor, even in other states. People should be alert. As there is a liquor ban here, something spurious will be sold due to which people die. Liquor is bad and shouldn’t be consumed. Last time, when people died due to spurious liquor, someone said they should be compensated. If someone consumes liquor, they’ll die and example is before us.”

NCP leader DP Tripathi on Saturday demanded strict action against the manufacturers of poisonous liquor as death toll continues to rise in the Mumbai Hooch Tragedy. At least 81 people have lost their lives after consuming poisonous liquor in suburban Mumbai city and many victims are undergoing treatment in various hospitals.

The main accused in the spurious liquor case in Mumbai has been arrested from Delhi and produced before Karkardooma Court on Tuesday. The tragedy had resulted in the death of more than 100 people, with a further 47 people hospitalised for consuming the hooch.
