Trial run of Metro Line 2A and 7 begins from May 31

The test run of Metro line 2A and 7 began on May 31. and will reportedly go on for four to five months. After this, the first phase will start in October and both the lines will be completely operational by January 2022, according to officials. On May 31, the metro reached Akurli Metro Station in Kandivli for the inauguration of the trial run program. A Roll-on Roll-off service carrying three tankers loaded with Liquid Medical Oxygen left from Hapa in Gujarat on 25th April at 6:03 pm and reached the Kalamboli goods yard in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region at 11.25 am on 26th April. Platform ticket prices rise from Rs 10 to Rs 50 at key Mumbai stations

The Central Railway has increased the price of platform tickets for passengers at some key stations in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region to avoid overcrowding during the upcoming summer season, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, an official confirmed on 2nd March. CR's chief public relations officer Shivaji Sutar confirmed that a platform ticket now costs Rs 50 instead of the previous rate of Rs 10 at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Dadar and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai, and neighbouring Thane, Kalyan, Panvel and Bhiwandi Road stations.
