AR Rahman was recently awarded the prestigious Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award at a ceremony in Mumbai. During his acceptance speech, AR Rahman shared that his father had deep respect for the Mangeshkar family. He said, “My father, when he was working in the film industry down south, used to get up facing Lata Mangeshkar ji’s photograph. So, when I became a composer from the south and the enormous love I got from you guys, changed my life. One thing I tell my family – my kids – is that look at the Mangeshkar family. The dedication they have. today we need that, today we need to celebrate the dedication of Lata ji, Asha ji, Hridaynath ji and the whole family. Hridaynath ji keeps asking me what I like about him. I say, ‘everything’.”

Today on 19th April, the first phase of voting for the Lok Sabha election 2024 kicked off. In Maharashtra, the voting began in five seats of Nagpur, Ramtek (SC), Bhandara-Gondia, Chandrapur, and the Naxal-affected Gadchiroli-Chimur (ST). Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and his wife Amruta Fadnavis were seen casting their votes at a polling booth in Nagpur. After casting his vote, Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis said, "Festival of democracy has started. I appeal to all the people to vote and strengthen democracy and register their participation in this festival of democracy." 26/11 Anniversary: To Mark the 15th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, a day-long poster exhibition was organised in Geneva on November 24. The demonstration was held at the broken chair in front of the United Nations. The posters depict the gruesome 2008 Mumbai attacks when 10 members of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba carried out 12 coordinated shooting and bombing attacks lasting four days across Mumbai. After this Glasgow Gurdwara incident, the Indian authorities raised this issue with the UK Foreign Office and the police. Amid row between India and Canada over killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Nijjar, Indian diplomat was heckled in Scotland. Indian High Commissioner to the UK Vikram Doraiswami was prevented from entering a Gurudwara in Glasgow. A video has been doing rounds on social media where a man was seen blocking Doraiswami from entering the Glasgow Gurudwara. Instead of getting into an argument, the Indian High Commissioner decided to leave in his car. The issue has been raised with the UK Foreign Office and also the police, according to sources. Sharply reacting to the incident, Sikh leaders from BJP slammed the pro-Khalistanis and said that anyone can enter a Gurdwara. This is not the first time that an Indian diplomat has faced such misbehavior. Earlier this year as well, Indian diplomats in Canada and UK have been openly threatened.
