Israel-Hamas Conflict: Israel releases video of Hamas ‘secret’ tunnel

Israeli Army released a video showing a reinforced tunnel under Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza on Nov 22. As per Reuters, the tunnel has a meeting room which was served as a command post for Hamas terrorists. The tunnel shaft was accessed through an outdoor shaft in the hospital complex grounds. Israel has long accused Hamas of using Shifa hospital complex as a command, control center as part of a wider strategy. Outside on the ground, the army showed scores of guns, grenades, other explosives collected in recent days inside the hospital. However, after a long haul of over 40 days, Israel, Hamas have agreed on a 4-day ceasefire in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. The decision has been made to allow the release of 50 hostages held in Gaza in exchange for 150 Palestinians jailed in Israel. Other than that, the entry of humanitarian aid into the besieged Gaza Strip will also be allowed.

After a long haul of over 40 days, Israel and Hamas have agreed on a four-day ceasefire in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. The decision has been made to allow the release of 50 hostages held in Gaza in exchange for 150 Palestinians jailed in Israel. Other than that, the entry of humanitarian aid into the besieged Gaza Strip will also be allowed. Israel’s Government released a statement describing the conditions of the release of hostages. As per the statement, 50 women and children will be released over four days during which there will be a pause in fighting. Hamas said that they would release 50 hostages in exchange for 150 Palestinian women, children who are held in Israeli jails. However, Israel's PM Benjamin Netanyahu clarified that the country is still at war with Hamas. Other than Israelis, over half the hostages held foreign and dual citizenship from some 40 countries including US, Britain, France. According to the Israeli media, the first release of hostages is expected on November 23.

An IAF C-17 Globemaster carrying relief materials departed for El-Arish airport in Egypt on Nov 19.
