Ahead of the ODI series against South Africa, Team India veteran batsman Virat Kohli arrived in Ranchi. After concluding the two-match Test series, both teams will engage in the white-ball contest, which includes three ODIs and five T20Is.

The first match of the ODI series between Team India and South Africa is scheduled to be played on November 30 at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.

The "Men in Blue" will enter the ODI series under the captaincy of KL Rahul. Shubman Gill has been provided rest for the 50-over format series as he is still recovering from the neck injury that the right-hander sustained during the first Test match.

Coming to Virat's statistics, he is the second-highest run-scorer in the history of ODIs. The right-hander also holds the top spot on the list of fastest players to complete 8,000, 9,000, 10,000, 11,000, 12,000, 13,000, and 14,000 runs in the format's history.

So far, the 37-year-old cricketer has represented India in 305 ODI matches and has garnered 14,255 runs with a top score of 183 runs. He also has 51 centuries, which is the most by any player in the format, and he also has 75 half-centuries to his name.

India will also miss vice-captain Shreyas Iyer, who is out of action due to a spleen injury. Iyer sustained the injury while taking a stunning catch to dismiss Alex Carey during the third ODI against Australia in Sydney, landing awkwardly on his left side.

With both Gill and Iyer unavailable, Rahul has been given the responsibility to lead the side. He brings a strong ODI resume, having scored 3,092 runs in 88 matches at an average of 48.31 and a strike rate of 88.41.

India squad: Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Tilak Varma, KL Rahul (Captain) (Wicketkeeper), Rishabh Pant (Wicketkeeper), Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh, Dhruv Jurel.
