You no longer need a reservation in South Mumbai or Bandra. Mumbai’s latest food districts are blooming right in your backyard. Whether it’s rooftop cocktails in Goregaon, izakaya-style dinners in Worli, or leafy cafés in Vikhroli, these hotspots offer a delicious escape without a long commute.

Vikhroli’s canopy of trees

The Godrej campus in Vikhroli feels like a design-forward pocket that is becoming one of the best trails in the city.

TAT
This coastal restaurant adds a splash to the campus with its seafood-forward menu. With offerings from different coastal towns of India. Indulge in bombil fry, Sri Lankan prawn curry, and even cocktails like a kaapi martini.

ab Coffee
A homegrown grab-and-go spot built for the morning commuter, ab Coffee’s offerings are cheaper than other speciality coffee brands but don’t skimp on quality. Their espresso shots and Vietnamese iced coffee offer strong starts, literally.

Ellie Café at The Trees

Ellie Cafe at The Trees
A beautifully designed cafe, it delivers European-style breakfasts and slow brunches in a glassy, plant-filled space that opens out into a plaza. It’s also one of the few spots where you’ll see co-working meet casual dining.

Mia Cucina
For something a little more indulgent, Mia Cucina has recently added a casual-cool Italian touch to the precinct. Al dente pasta, wine glasses clinking, and red-brick interiors, it’s like walking into a trattoria that’s lost track of time.

Butterfly High
The bar-restaurant that flips the switch at sundown. It’s got energy, mood lighting, and plenty of fusion bar bites that pair well with their playful cocktail menu.

Worli eats under office towers
Worli’s Altimus has become the latest magnet for cool new openings. Offering a breather from the crowded mills down the road.

Ode
Chef Rahul Akerkar’s Ode brings modern Indian-European fare. The interiors are pale stone and wood, the food is full of delicate technique, and you can indulge in plates that are backed by a veteran chef.

Donmai
Dubbed one of the most well-designed Japanese restaurants in the city, Donmai is a modern-day izakaya. Expect a casual vibe along with plates of hamachi, salmon uramaki, and takoyaki with smoked avocado, along with Japanese ingredient-forward cocktails.

Nara Thai
For a Bangkok-style escape, trust the iconic Nara Thai. You can get classic Thai comfort food with flair, like larb gai salad, stir-fried morning glory, hung lay curry and more, in elegant lilac interiors.

Brunch & Cake
An Instagram dreamland, Brunch & Cake, a globally beloved café, has a Mumbai home in Worli. And, it’s all about the visuals, oat milk lattes, and brunch staples. Think: Mermaid smoothie bowls, Neapolitan-style pizzas, eggs in all styles, brunch cocktails, coolers, lattes, and more.

NESCO swaps expo halls for plates

Once reserved for trade shows and weddings, Goregaon’s NESCO has a reimagined campus, which is now a solid dining draw.

Aasmaan by Hitchki
The gastro pub’s first-ever rooftop space has already earned a crowd. The two-level rooftop space is part party, part postcard view, with retro Bollywood interiors, regional small plates, and cocktails that riff off nostalgia.

The Tanjore Tiffin Room
The restaurant comes further north after branches in Bandra and Andheri. And, it has carried its vintage postcard look to Goregaon as well. Spanning across 3,000 sq. ft., this is the restaurant’s largest space yet. Its colonial teak furniture, brass accents, and south Indian staples—mutton pepper fry, Marina Beach sandal, yam cutlet—make it a wholesome stop.

Bayroute
In the compound, you will also find Bayroute, which gives you a Middle Eastern fix. The menu hosts staples with lamb kotlet, musabbaha, moutabbal, and more in a setting that feels like Marrakesh via Mumbai.

Sante Spa Cuisine
For the health-conscious, this is a serene, bamboo-clad antidote to the usual heavy fare. Perfect for guilt-free yet flavourful bowls and smoothies.
