Banga, Mumbai fight hard

At the time of going to print, it was all square between Banga Beats and Mumbai Masters at the Siri Fort Sports Complex after four matches last night.

Chinese Taipei’s Tai Tzu Ying beat Tine Baun 21-17, 21-18 to help Banga Beats draw level at 1-1 against Mumbai Masters, after the Beats were left trailing when Vladimir Ivanov downed P Kashyap 21-18, 21-18 in the opening match. In the third match-up of the day, Banga Beats’ Carsten Mogensen and Akshay Dewalkar beat Mumbai’s Pranav Chopra and Manu Attri 21-12, 21-13 in the men’s doubles encounter. 

Match Four, was a thriller. German Marc Zweibler lost the opening game to Banga’s Hu Yun 17-21 before fighting back to take the second 21-17. Zwiebler then won the third game 11-6 taking the match score to 2-2 with all to play for in the following mixed doubles encounter.
