Asin is currently holidaying in her hometown Kochi while gorging on some delicious south Indian dishes
After the hectic travelling for the promotions of her last film Housefull 2, Asin Thottumkal is taking a break. Earlier this week, the actress took off for Kerala for what she describes as “a well-deserved holiday.” She is chilling out till April 27 after which she begins shooting for another schedule of her film with Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan in Wai, near Panchgani.

She says, “I was planning to take off immediately after the release of the film but as I had other commitments, I delayed my trip. I was particularly looking forward to speak at the Young Change Makers Conclave hosted by the US Consulate in Mumbai last weekend. It was an experience to speak in front of such distinguished guests and to be recognised as an achiever.”
Asin makes it a point to visit her hometown Kochi in Kerala at least once a year. “For me this is the best place to unwind and recharge the batteries. I was born here and studied here but later moved to Chennai and then Mumbai.
For me a holiday means doing absolutely nothing. Normally when people travel or take off for a vacation they indulge in sightseeing, shopping or exploring new places. But I don’t like to stick to any schedule. I just want to do nothing and do things at my pace. I can only do this in Kochi and even switch off my cell phone!”
Apart from gorging on appam, rasam and payasam, Asin is also catching up on sleep. “The last few months have been extremely hectic for me and I needed this time off before I start shooting yet again.”
Last year in October, as a birthday gift she had gifted herself a new home in Kochi. But due to her shoot schedules she did not have much time to spend at her new house — which she is also doing now.u00a0
