Mandy's short story

We loved her with her curls in Shanti, and then when she straightened her hair, we thought that she looked even more smashing. But before we knew it, Mandira Bedi had snipped off her tresses.

Short is hot then became the new mantra. Look's like it's time for a change again. Mandy tells us, "I am done with the short hair and desperately need a new look." She talks to CS about experimenting with different looks:

Hair and there

When I entered the industry, straight hair was in and I had long curly hair. I broke the trend and suddenly curly was the new rage. My short haircut was an accident. I was inaugurating a French salon.

I desperately wanted a haircut for some occasion and my stylist wasn't in town. After the inauguration, the stylist from France offered me a haircut and I volunteered.

After the haircut, I knew I had made a mistake. In Mumbai, I got my stylist to repair it, and she had to cut my hair short to salvage the cut. Now I've realised that maintaining long hair is much easier.

The other day when I entered my bathroom I saw some 15 different bottles which I use to keep my short hair in place. And I need a headwash everyday. I think I am done with the short hair now, I want to go for a mid-length cut. You might see me in a different hairstyle soon!

Style check

I wear what my head agrees to. I can't wear something which doesn't fit my logicu00a0-- like the pumps or the yellow that is totally in. My experiments might work, or they might not, but I am responsible for them. I can't blame them on trends!

At one stage I was famous for my noodle strap and halter neck saree blouses, but I was comfortable in them. My fashion sense has changed according to my onscreen image.

Also the shape of my body determines my style. If I am on the heavier side, I would go with the six yards, but on my thinner days, I prefer something western like the boyfriend shorts that I've been sporting these days.

Fitness first

I am a fitness freak and going to gym has now become an integral part of my daily schedule. After Fear Factor when I had broken my leg, I felt lost. My biggest fear was not being unable to work, but not being able to workout.

After the surgery, when doctor gave me the permission to walk with crutches, the first thing I did was to go for a swim. After I recovered I once again hit the gym to get back in shape.

Recently, when I visited my doctor he said that I was five kgs underweight. That was enough to make my day. But having said that I have always been fit, I have never crossed 55kgs. May be that's why my co-stars in Shanti are playing grandmothers and I am still experimenting!
