When the Delhi Police failed to trace his cellphone, 25-year-old Vijay Kumar decided to take matters into his own hands. He nabbed the miscreant using the tracker installed in his mobile phone. The youth faced police trouble when he got back the phone as he was asked by cops to lodge a complaint with the Delhi Police Commissioner's office. The incident has been reported from Ambedkar Nagar area of southeast Delhi.

Mum's the word
A police source confirmed the incident while senior police officials were tight-lipped over the matter. The source said that Vijay Kumar a resident of Ambedkar Nagar area had lost his cellphone about a week ago. He approached the police and gave a written complaint.

The source added that Vijay is working with a security agency and is posted with the Italian Embassy in Chankayapuri area. He approached the police several times and asked about his phone but the police said they didn't know about it.

"Vijay had installed a mobile tracker system in his cellphone. With the help of the tracker he found that the phone was active in the same area. He told all this to the police and caught the accused. The cellphone was recovered from his possession," said the police official. However, the cops asked him to lodge a complaint with the Commissioner BK Gupta's office if he wanted to get his cellphone back.

Speaking to MiD DAY Vijay Kumar claimed that he is lodging a formal written complaint with the police commissioner's office. "I only want to get my cellphone and so I will file a complaint with police commissioner's office. It is up to the police to decide whether they lodge an FIR or not. I will not force them," said Vijay who didn't want to be photographed.
