The eight-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt recently celebrated his 40th birthday on August, 21. However, the celebrations turned extra special when Usain popped the question to his longtime girlfriend at One Belmont in Kingston, Jamaica.
Photos and videos of the grand proposal have been going viral on the internet. They show Bolt wearing a beige checkered suit as he got down on one knee with a microphone in front of Bennett, who looked stunning in a gold bodycon dress with silver sequin detailing.
One of the photos shared online shows an emotional Bennett hugging her now fiancé as he smiled while wrapping her in his arms after the proposal. According to the Jamaica Observer, Bolt popped the question in the resence of the pair's family and friends at the event.
Another photo showed Bennett showing off her 5-carat engagement ring, which seems to feature a pear-shaped diamond cushioned in between several diamonds that wrapped around a band.
Ahead of the birthday celebration and proposal on Friday, August 21, Bennett had shared an Instagram carousel wishing Bolt with several pictures of him and the two of them together. She also shared a sweet video of the pair sharing a kiss, going on a boat and walking through an airport with their kids. She captioned the post, "Happy 40th birthday to my person. My love, my home, my forever. You are an incredible dad and truly the centre of our little world."
"Your legacy is extraordinary, but the man behind it will always be what makes me proudest. So grateful to do this fun life we've created with you. I love you endlessly baby," she added.
Usain Bolt and Kasi began dating in 2013. Initially, they kept the relationship private for several years before going public at the Rio Olympics in 2016. They later made it Instagram official in September of that year, when Bennett shared a photo of the two on vacation in Bora Bora.
Over the years, the couple has welcomed three children together, a daughter, Olympia Lightning Bolt, 6 and twin sons, Thunder Bolt and Saint Leo Bolt, 5.
Bolt earlier during an interview with PEOPLE in 2016 expressed that he wanted to have a relationship like his parents, Wellesley and Jennifer Bolt, who spent a decade together before tying the knot. Talking of his relationship with Bennet, he had said, "She's happy, I'm happy! I want to have what my parents have. I want to take my time to make sure everything is perfect."
