Allu Sirish and Nayanika Reddy`s wedding ceremony
Tollywood actor Allu Sirish and entrepreneur Nayanika Reddy tied the knot in a dreamy ceremony in Hyderabad on 6th March. This high-profile extravaganza was brought to life by Devanshi Patel, founder of Shreem Events. The wedding planner speaks exclusively to mid-day about planning a celebrity wedding while adding personalised touches and honouring Telugu traditions.
Devanshi Patel revealed that from the moment she began working with Allu Sirish and Nayanika 3 months ago, the couple were very clear about the mood they wanted for their wedding.
Instead of focusing on extravagance, Patel said, "The couple wanted the ceremonies to be deeply rooted in traditional Telugu customs, while still feeling relaxed and reflective of who they are as individuals." Ensuring that guests could genuinely experience the warmth of the celebrations and the sacredness of the rituals was a top priority for the couple.
She also shared that every member from both families contributed to different parts of the celebrations, which added a very personal touch to the wedding.
"Allu Aravind and Allu Sneha Reddy were closely involved in discussions around the larger vision for the reception, particularly when it came to the overall experience, guest flow and scale of the evening. Their inputs helped shape how the reception would unfold and how the guests would experience the celebration."
To celebrate his love for his bride-to-be, Allu Sirish chose to get Nayanika's name imprinted in his mehendi, reversing the age-old custom of a bride writing her groom's name in her mehendi. Furthermore, he imprinted the traditional namam, a sacred Tirupati Lord Balaji symbol, perfectly, honouring both love and spirituality.
Patel said that the couple insisted on creating a culturally rich environment by incorporating elements such as traditional gajra stations. A beautiful musical moment was created by Veena Srivani's soulful classical veena recital, which complemented the spiritual tone of the ceremonies. There was a traditional banti bhojanam meal, where guests were seated together and served an Andhra-style wedding feast, creating a strong sense of community.
Patel noted that what made the wedding extra special was Allu Sirish's insistence on not skipping any rituals. "At a time when many modern weddings are condensed into quick 30-minute ceremonies, he wanted to honour every ritual, despite knowing they might span several hours," she praised.
The wedding followed several important Telugu traditions, beginning with an auspicious start. This was followed by rituals such as Jeelakara Bellam, symbolising the couple's union, and Thalambralu, where the bride and groom shower each other with sacred rice as a gesture of prosperity and joy.
Other meaningful ceremonies included Panigrahanam, where the groom formally accepts the bride's hand in marriage; Mettu, where the groom places the toe rings on the bride's feet; and Arundathi Nakshatram, where the couple is guided to look at the star Arundhati.
A unique aspect of this wedding was the scale of visibility around the celebrations. Several high-profile leaders and dignitaries, such as A. Revanth Reddy and Nara Lokesh, were among the attendees. Furthermore, due to the Allu family's popularity, the reception was telecast live on regional television channels.
This meant that the planning had to account not just for guests and families but also for camera placements, stage management, show flow and overall production movement. "Because of this scale, Shreem Events had to handle several aspects that traditionally do not fall within the scope of wedding planners. From coordinating larger guest movement and security flow to managing multiple entourages, media presence and operational logistics around the venue, the planning required a much wider lens than a typical wedding setup."
