Actor Esha Deol has candidly opened up about her life after her divorce from businessman Bharat Takhtani, admitting that while she misses having love in her life, she continues to believe in romance and meaningful relationships. The actress, who announced her separation from Bharat in 2024 after over a decade of marriage, reflected on heartbreak, healing and the possibility of finding love again in a recent interview with Curly Tales.
Speaking about her current emotional state, Esha admitted, "I am currently missing love," adding that companionship is something she values deeply. However, she made it clear that she is not actively searching for a relationship and is content focusing on herself and her daughters at this stage of life.
The actor also revealed that she has experienced relationships before and after marriage, saying, "I have had boyfriends." She explained that every relationship has taught her something valuable, helping her evolve both personally and emotionally. Despite going through a difficult phase, she has not become cynical about love.
"I will always believe in falling in love," Esha said, stressing that love remains "the most beautiful feeling" a person can experience. At the same time, she believes one should never define themselves solely through a romantic relationship. "Having love and companionship in life is wonderful. However, it is not your be-all and end-all," she shared.
Reflecting on her upbringing, Esha credited her parents, veteran actors Hema Malini and Dharmendra, for shaping her understanding of love and relationships. "We grew up seeing unconditional love," she said, adding that the affection between her parents continues to influence her outlook on romance. She also fondly remarked that her father "is in my heart."
Esha also addressed her separation from Bharat Takhtani, emphasising that it remains a deeply personal matter. "It's between two individuals, and it involves kids," she said, explaining why she prefers to maintain privacy about the reasons behind their split. Despite ending their marriage, the two continue to co-parent their daughters and have maintained an amicable relationship focused on their children's well-being. Esha believes every life experience, including heartbreak and mistakes, contributes to personal growth and resilience.
