The firing incident involving Tiger Shroff has triggered fresh security concerns across Bollywood, with Akshay Kumar's Mumbai residence reportedly set to receive a bulletproof glass shield. The move comes as investigators probe the October 18 shooting in Juhu and examine whether other high-profile actors were also considered targets. According to Moneycontrol, security measures are being strengthened at the homes of several celebrities following developments in the investigation. The incident has renewed questions about the safety of film stars and the protection they require outside their professional commitments.
According to reports, installation of a bulletproof glass shield is underway at Akshay Kumar's residence, while security arrangements at Salman Khan's home are also being upgraded. The developments follow reports that the people accused of firing at Shroff had allegedly conducted reconnaissance of other celebrity residences before the attack. Police sources cited by Hindustan Times said Salman Khan was reportedly the original target, but the alleged attackers were deterred by the heavy security outside his Bandra home.
Investigators are examining the alleged movements of the accused and the circumstances that led them to target Shroff. These details remain part of an ongoing investigation.
The incident took place on October 18 near Pushpa Narsee Park in Mumbai's Juhu area, where Shroff had reportedly gone to play football. Gunmen opened fire at his vehicle as it left the location. Tiger Shroff escaped without serious injury, although his driver sustained a bullet wound and another person was also reported injured. According to The Indian Express, a call made by one of the accused to a cab driver helped police trace their movements after the shooting. The suspects were subsequently arrested in Kota, Rajasthan, and investigators have continued to examine possible links to organised crime.
The incident has led to tighter security for high-profile actors, such as Salman Khan, whose house was attacked in a shooting incident in April 2024. Police are still investigating the latest shooting, including alleged planning and possible involvement of criminal networks. "Any claims of intended targets or gang affiliations should be considered allegations until verified by investigators. The installation of bulletproof glass at the home of Akshay Kumar is, for now, a reflection of the wider security response to the attack. As the investigation progresses, the priority remains establishing the facts and preventing further violence.
