Singer AR Ameen, the son of music composer AR Rahman, recently made news after he sustained minor injuries in a car accident in Chennai on Monday. He was rushed to the hospital but was later discharged within a few hours. After news of the accident broke, leaving fans worried, his sister, singer-composer Khatija Rahman, shared a statement explaining how the accident occurred. Later, AR Ameen also took to social media to share his statement and express gratitude to fans.
In his statement, Ameen clarified that he was in the passenger seat and was not driving the car, contrary to what some reports stated. His statement shared on Instagram Stories read, "Yesterday, on the way to the airport, I was in the passenger seat of my friend's car when we got into a minor accident. By God's grace, everyone involved is safe and okay. All praises to the Almighty (EPI) for His grace and protection over all of us."
He further expressed gratitude to everyone who checked up on him, saying, "I want to sincerely thank my family, friends, and well-wishers who reached out, checked on me, and sent their love and prayers. It truly means more to me than I can express. I also believe that my grandma's, my dad's, and GV Anna's prayers and values continue to guide and protect me. I will always carry their teachings with me and strive to live by everything they have instilled in me."
Ameen, who made his Bollywood singing debut with Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur's song Bheegi Bheegi, concluded his note saying, "Thank you once again to everyone for your love, care, and support."
Khatija Rahman had also shared a statement on her brother's accident, explaining the situation and thanking everyone who prayed for Ameen. Her statement read, "Ameen was on his way to the airport, seated in the passenger seat, while his friend was driving. A driver in another vehicle ahead of them moved forward despite the signal being red, which resulted in a minor collision."
She added, "By God's grace, Ameen, his friend, and the occupant of the other vehicle are all safe." Khatija also urged media outlets to verify details with the family before reporting to avoid âunnecessary worry and distress'.
AR Rahman's daughter Khatija tied the knot with Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed back in 2022.
