As excitement builds for the release of the Hindi film Pati Patni Aur Woh Do on May 15, lead actor Ayushmann Khurrana has surprised audiences with an intimate reprised rendition of the film's romantic track Dil Waale Chor. Positioned as a wholesome family entertainer packed with humour, chaos, and heart, the film sees Ayushmann returning to a genre audiences have loved him in the most.
Adding another emotional layer ahead of the release, the actor has collaborated with Rochak Kohli for a soulful recreation of the track, bringing his signature warmth and honesty to the song. Originally composed by Rochak Kohli and sung by Aditya Rikhari and Shreya Ghoshal in the film, Dil Waale Chor now returns with a fresh and intimate soul in Ayushmann's voice.
Speaking about the track, Ayushmann shared, "Music has always been a very personal space for me. The first time I heard Dil Waale Chor, it stayed with me. There was something beautifully unfiltered about the song, the emotion of the lyrics and melody. Rochak has composed it with a lot of soul, and Aditya and Shreya brought such honesty to the original version that it instantly connected with audiences."
He further shared, "When Rochak and I spoke about revisiting the track, the idea was never to simply recreate it, but to reinterpret it in a way that feels intimate and personal to my journey with music. I enjoy constantly evolving creatively, whether it's through storytelling on screen or through songs that connect on a more personal level. This collaboration with Rochak felt like the perfect blend of both worlds."
The actor shared the reprised and reimagined version on Instagram, where he also improvised parts of the lyrics. Sharing the track, he captioned it, "This version belongs to you all now. Hope you all enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it."
Ayushmann has been increasingly reconnecting with his musical roots in recent months, having also shared a fresh rendition of Saadi Galli earlier this year.
Directed by Mudassar Aziz, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do aims to bring back the joy of classic family entertainers to the big screen. The film also stars Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead.
