Bhooth Bangla's storyline

The film introduces us to Arjun Acharya (Akshay Kumar), who lives in London. His younger sister Meera (Mithila Palkar) is about to get married but cannot find an appropriate destination wedding location in India. Things fall into place miraculously when Arjun unexpectedly inherits a mysterious palace in India. What ensues is a festive atmosphere turning into chaos filled with humour, suspense, and supernatural twists.

The movie also stars Paresh Rawal, Mithila Palkar, Asrani, Rajesh Sharma, Zakir Hussain, Bhavna Pani, Perin Malde, Manu Menon, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, and Jisshu Sengupta in important roles.

After the film's release, it garnered attention for the wrong reasons as a vendor alleged non-payment of dues. Mid-day spoke to a vendor working on the horror comedy, who claimed that Balaji Telefilms Limited owes him close to ₹30 lakh in fees.

However, the production house denied the allegations in an official statement, saying, "This is to clarify that the company has fulfilled all its contractual payment obligations for the film and there are no unpaid contractual dues, nor is anything further due and payable to any vendors engaged by the company for this film for any services rendered by them."

On the work front for Akshay Kumar, he is reuniting with Priyadarshan for Haiwaan, which also stars Saif Ali Khan. The film is a remake of the Malayalam film Oppam.
