Ranveer Singh's much-awaited espionage drama Dhurandhar 2 has raked up a storm at the box office. The film opened with an enormous number at the box office, sweeping a clean century on its very first day. Seems like roadblocks like delays and cancellations of shows couldn't stop the film as it stormed past the Rs 100 crore mark.

Dhurandhar 2 crosses Rs 100 crore mark on day 1

As per trade trackers, the Aditya Dhar-directorial has minted Rs 102.55 crore on the opening day, with the Hindi version contributing a lion's share of Rs 99.10 crore. Interestingly, the first instalment, Dhurandhar, which became the all-time highest grosser in Hindi, had opened with Rs 27 crore at the box office when it released in December 2025. This implies that Dhurandhar 2 made almost four times more than Dhurandhar on its opening day.

On the other hand, Kannada and Malayalam versions, which couldn't run paid previews due to technical issues and non-availability of content, collected Rs 0.8 crore and Rs 0.9 crore, respectively. The Tamil version of the film earned Rs 1.16 crore from 958 shows in India, while Telugu collected Rs 2.12 crore.

Ahead of its release on March 19, the Ranveer Singh-starrer had paid previews across cities in India on March 18. As per reports, the film earned Rs 43 crore from 12,735 paid preview shows that day despite cancellations.

Dhurandhar 2 breaks records

What makes the accomplishment stand apart is that Dhurandhar: The Revenge has managed to leave several recent blockbusters behind. It has surpassed the opening day numbers of films like Jawan (Rs 75 crore), Pathaan (Rs 57 crore), Stree 2 (Rs 54 crore) and Animal (Rs 64 crore) in the Hindi market, thus establishing itself as one of the biggest openers for Bollywood.

Across Indian releases, the film now holds the second-highest opening ever, behind Pushpa 2: The Rule, which holds the numero uno position with Rs 175-179 crore. In fact, when compared with the Hindi version of Pushpa 2, Dhurandhar 2 has surpassed it on Day 1. Pushpa 2 reportedly earned Rs 70.30 crore in the Hindi, while Dhurandhar 2 has minted Rs 99 crore.
