Diljit Dosanjh's October 30 concert in Delhi is set to witness heightened security, with around 2,000 private guards expected to be deployed at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Organisers have also been directed to increase parking facilities and coordinate with cab aggregators to manage the crowd and prevent traffic congestion around the venue

The heightened arrangements come after Delhi Police initially withheld permission for the concert, citing security concerns and law-and-order responsibilities during the festive season. Following the discussions with the organisers, the show has since recieved clearance, paving the way for Diljit Dosanjh to launch his Aura India Tour in Delhi as scheduled.

Delhi plans strict security, traffic curbs for Diljit Dosanjh's October 30 concert

According to a report by Indian Express, security arrangements for Diljit Dosanjh's Delhi concert have been significantly upgraded, with Delhi Police recommending between 1,500 and 2,000 private guards, up from the 400 proposed by the organisers. The additional security is expected to help manage the massive crowd at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, which has a capacity of approximately 55,000.

The security personnel will manage queues, direct concertgoers to their designated entry gates, and assist them at help kiosks. They will also help maintain pedestrian movement around the stadium. Organisers have also been instructed to arrange additional nearby parking and coordinate with cab aggregators and navigation platforms to manage traffic and facilitate smoother pick-ups and drop-offs.

To prevent congestion around the stadium, police are planning to restrict vehicle movement within a 500 to 700-metre radius of the venue. The proposed pedestrian-only zone would permit only vehicles carrying the artiste and those with specific event authorisation to enter the restricted areas.

Meanwhile, organisers are also exploring the possibility of extending the performance ramp so that Diljit can get closer to fans and interact with them during the concert. The proposal, however, is awaiting final security clearance.

Diljit Dosanjh's Aura India Tour

The Delhi concert will mark the beginning of Diljit Dosanjh's Aura India Tour, followed by Indore on November 15, Ahmedabad on November 21, Mumbai on November 27, Bengaluru on November 29 and Lucknow on December 5. Chandigarh is also on the list, but the date and venue are yet to be confirmed.
