Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi's Ek Din trailer has sparked online chatter after some viewers compared its premise to Saiyaara (2025). Addressing the speculation, Aamir Khan, the producer of the movie, clarified that the films are unrelated. He said, "Sai tells Junaid, âYeh meri zindagi ka sabse khoobsurat din hai,' and he replies, âPar kal tumhein yeh din yaad nahin rahega'." Dismissing links to memory-loss themes seen in Saiyaara, he added, "No! Our film is completely different!"
Veteran actor Shabana Azmi recently spoke out against the portrayal of women in item numbers in films while addressing the We the Women event in Mumbai. Shabana said, "Cinema is defined by the image. So when you have disconnected images, like a heaving bosom or shaking navel, and the camera moves around the body, it decides the director's intention. I feel in an item number, a woman loses all control and surrenders to the male gaze." She added that she finds some lyrics "extremely uncomfortable" and disagrees with them, noting that such sequences often have "nothing to do with the story," yet are widely normalised in society.
