Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar
Turning up on Cyrus Broacha's chat show, veteran writer Javed Akhtar discussed details about his style of parenting. Talking about the lessons he gave his kids, Farhan and Zoya Akhtar, he said he knew children are not inclined to follow what they are told, and, instead, tend to observe and emulate the actions of those around them. They pay attention to people's moral values, and beliefs. "Both my children are religious atheist people. In fact, Farhan wrote ânot applicable' in the religion section of his daughters' birth certificates," recalled Javed. Advocating for the notion that a child's upbringing is influenced by the environment, he said kids could either develop an aversion to certain behaviours, or could assimilate them.
