Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali's daughter, Ida, recently announced her engagement to her long-time boyfriend, Krish Agrawal. The couple made it official by sharing pictures and videos from their dreamy proposal amid the breathtaking landscapes of Norway.
On July 1, Krish chose a picture-perfect proposal, going down on one knee and popping the question to Ida with a ring. The delightfully filmy moment caught the attention of fans, who went gaga over the pictures. Ida, the 25-year-old aspiring filmmaker, said 'Yes!' On Sunday, she took to Instagram to share a video of the proposal, sharing a glimpse of the couple's milestone.
Imtiaz Ali has now reacted to the proposal, revealing that before popping the question, Krish, 24, spoke to him and sought his blessing. For the unversed, Krish Agarwal is a 24-year-old quantitative researcher at a hedge fund. He and Ida Ali have reportedly been dating for a long time and bond over their love for travel.
Meanwhile, Ida runs a popular podcast on YouTube alongside Kareema Berry, titled Why Are The Curtains Blue? She was also seen in a brief cameo appearance in Imtiaz Ali's latest release, Main Vaapas Aaunga. Additionally, she has also played a small role in Imtiaz Ali's OTT series Thai Massage (2022).
Besides, following in her father's footsteps, the 25-year-old has also directed short films such as Life (2017), Maya (2018), Uljhe Hue (2022) and The Other Woman (2022).
Imtiaz Ali reacted to Ida's engagement. Talking to Hindustan Times, the filmmaker said, "It is the greatest happiness for me." He further added, "Krish did speak to me before proposing to Ida." Meanwhile, talking about her fiancé, Ida said, "Krish works as a quantitative researcher at a hedge fund."
After the engagement, the chatter has also shifted to wedding bells. Meanwhile, Imtiaz seems to be in no hurry to rush things. The filmmaker said he chooses to let the couple soak in this momentous proposal, saying, "I would rather not step in and let them enjoy their moment."
Ida clarified, "There are no wedding plans yet! Just enjoying the moment, like my dad said." Although the filmmaker did not post about his daughter's engagement on his account, he shared a news article reporting the news with his daughter's wrong age. Sharing the post, he added, "25-year-old. please," on his Instagram stories.
