Arshad Warsi is ready to pull double duty on the big screen. The actor's upcoming dark comedy Jeevan Bheema Yojana has locked September 4, 2026, as its worldwide theatrical release date. The makers had earlier announced an August 28 release, but the film will now arrive in cinemas a week later.

Arshad Warsi plays two characters

The new release date was announced alongside a fresh poster, as the film enters the final stretch of its promotional campaign. Directed by Abhishek Dogra, the film stars Warsi in his first-ever double role, with the actor playing the contrasting characters of Jeevan and Bheema.

The ensemble also features Sanjeeda Shaikh, Vijay Raaz, Pooja Chopra, Bijendra Kala and the late Atul Parchure. Presented and produced by Starbeam Ventures Limited, formerly known as Blue God Entertainment Limited, the film combines dark humour with crime and suspense.

The story revolves around Jeevan, a debt-ridden ordinary man whose life takes a bizarre turn when he encounters Bheema, his dangerous lookalike. What seems like a potentially life-changing opportunity soon turns into a nightmare, with mistaken identity, greed and deception sending the characters deeper into trouble.

Sanjeeda Shaikh plays Yojana, Jeevan's quick-thinking wife, while Vijay Raaz essays the mysterious Vinayak. With two Arshads at the centre of the chaos, the film promises plenty of room for confusion, dark laughs and unexpected turns.

For Warsi, the project also marks an interesting addition to his filmography, giving him the chance to explore two characters with sharply different personalities within the same story.

A dark comedy of bad choices

Dogra described the film as a story about ordinary people making one disastrous decision and dealing with its consequences. "Jeevan Bheema Yojana is a film about ordinary people making one extraordinary, catastrophic decision and then spending the rest of the film paying for it," the director said.

While the film wears the garb of a dark comedy, Dogra believes its emotional core remains grounded in human behaviour. He also praised Arshad Warsi's performance, saying, "He brings both men to life with a precision that constantly surprised us on set."

With its release date now locked, Jeevan Bheema Yojana will hit theatres worldwide on September 4, bringing together mistaken identities, crime, suspense and a generous dose of dark humour.
