Kareena Kapoor Khan to collaborate with ‘Mrs’ director Arati Kadav for Netflix film

Kareena Kapoor Khan will headline Arati Kadav’s 1990s-set procedural drama, reportedly a Netflix original. Produced by Harman Baweja, the film marks their first collaboration and begins filming in September

In September, Kareena Kapoor Khan's Daayra will arrive in theatres. For the actor though, there's more to the month than that - she will also take a new project on floors. mid-day has learnt that the superstar is set to collaborate with director Arati Kadav of Mrs (2025) fame for a film set in the 1990s. The buzz is that it will be a Netflix original.

The yet-untitled project marks the maiden collaboration between the actor and director. A source revealed, "It's a procedural drama. Kareena is excited about collaborating with Arati, who is one of the most unique voices in contemporary Hindi cinema."

We're told the project fits right into the kind of unheard stories that Kapoor is seeking at this stage in her career. "In the last few years, Kareena has balanced mainstream movies with middle-of-the-road cinema. She wants to stretch herself as an actor and throw her might behind interesting voices."

Apparently, Kadav began working on the movie's pre-production in the first half of 2026. Like Mrs, her new outing too will be produced by Harman Baweja. "Harman and Arati developed a great partnership while working on Mrs. It was evident that they would reunite," said another insider.
