Recently, visuals of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone shooting for their upcoming film King leaked online. Soon after, images claiming to reveal Abhishek Bachchan's look as the film's antagonist also went viral on social media - or so fans thought.

Abhishek's images not leaked

Images claiming to show Bachchan's look from King surfaced online on Thursday and quickly spread across social media. However, those pictures are not from the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan-starrer.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, a source from the industry confirmed that the images are fake. "Abhishek Bachchan is currently travelling for ETPL and has been in Ireland for the same," the source said, adding that the viral pictures have no connection to the film.

About the ‘leaked' images

The images were widely circulated by fan accounts on X (formerly Twitter). In one of the pictures, Abhishek is seen standing atop a vehicle against a rugged mountainous backdrop. He appears dressed in a long grey overcoat layered over an all-black outfit while holding a long gun.

Another image appears to capture a high-octane car crash sequence mid-explosion, hinting at the film's large scale and stylised action.

The images had fuelled fan theories that Abhishek could be playing a powerful villain opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the action entertainer.

Earlier leaks from King sets

Earlier, several videos of Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan shooting in South Africa for King surfaced online and quickly went viral.

One of the videos showed the duo in the middle of a scene, while another captured Shah Rukh offering his hand to help Deepika as they climbed a flight of stairs. Later, a video of them seemingly filming a romantic song by the beach also surfaced online.

Following the leaks, director Siddharth Anand strongly reacted and urged fans to stop circulating leaked footage.

He wrote on X, "REQUEST TO ALL THE FANS. Please do not post or circulate any leaked multimedia from the sets of KING. The team is working round the clock to ensure the best cinematic experience for everyone. Let us wait for the surprise on the big screen and for the assets to be revealed as the team of King originally intends to."
